Based in Victoria BC, Long Cool Cowgirl is a four-piece rock band with a captivating blend of indie ballads and "bluegaze" walls of sound. Weaving intricate lyricism, grooving rhythms, and swooning melodies, they entice listeners into their velvety world of genre-bending bliss.
Before the formation of the band in April 2025, Mimi was the solo "Long Cool Cowgirl" writing acoustic folk songs and rock ballads shyly in her room for years. The band would soon come to fruition and take those songs to the next level. The music written in that time formed the basis of the discography of the group until recently when they have begun co-writing expansive arrangements together. Mimi leads the band as the vocalist and rhythm guitarist, and is supported by Thomas Sokoloff on drums, Brayden Wright on bass, and Julian Seagull on lead guitar.
Recording the haunting bones of just four tender songs in the unbearable July heat, LCC released their first EP Live Off The Floor November 2025. The EP is a solo work from Mimi alone; an ode to the origins of the lone Long Cool Cowgirl. In July 2026, they released a single titled Hands that are kind. The melancholy acoustic ensemble is an elevated version of the first song Mimi brought to Thomas Sokoloff (drums, production) back in 2024. They are currently in the midst of recording their debut album as a band, set to be released fall 2026/winter 2027.
Long Cool Cowgirl has taken the spotlight on many stages in Victoria and recently Nanaimo. Some noteworthy venues/shows have been at The Coda (Victoria), The Queens (Nanaimo), The Mint (Victoria), and The United Commons (Victoria).
